| The effort, once repair attempts actually began ( when vehicle was left, I made the plan clear and the attendant expressed understanding that I needed the vehicle ready by the following Monday as I would be flying back to OR and it was my only transportation); the vehicle was dropped off at 8:00 Monday, the attempt to repair began four days later on the following Friday. My problem/service list by priority #ONE was to get inoperable power seats fixed, change the oil and filter, perform a tube up and if time allowed perform a I got a phone call about 4:45 that day but was unable to take off message until after closing at 5:00. When I got the Saturday guy in charge I was provided a list of repair parts. My immediate impression was that the multi-point inspection was performed and a list prepared, not a report of attempted repairs. He had no knowledge other than what he was looking at. No one in the shop knew anything. So that put us to Monday the very day I needed the vehicle. What us more, the operational status of the vehicle when I brought it in was great except for the above items of requested repair. I had to rent a truck for a week. An attempted repair was performed but the vehicle ran terribly rough. I was told it had a radiator that needed replacement and it probably had a leaking head gasket. I was referred to a nearby shop by the Point S service manager. That shop found clear evidence of an "attempted (their word)" tune up, an off time status, a leking radiator hose (radiato fine), and eventually after pulling the head, a blown head gasket. HOW THE HELL DID WE GO FROM A VEHICLE A LITTLE HARDER TO START THAN NORMAL (my request for a tune up) to a condition of a BLOWN head gasket! The fee was reasonable and the service manager very friendly. BUT where the rubber hits the road it was a massive disappointment. I have been a loyal customer. |
